Anaya Kunst, known artistically as Anaya Music, has journeyed from a childhood dream to a multifaceted career in both music and film, earning over 500 awards worldwide. Her story is a testament to the power of passion and creative energy. In this exclusive interview for The World Class Film Awards, Anaya shares insights into her artistic journey, collaborations, and vision for the future.
Your journey began with a childhood dream fueled by your father’s Canon camera. How did those early experiences influence your artistic vision?
I always wanted to be a Hollywood artist and I started composing when I was 12 years old. A lot of musicians in my family are playing guitar, piano, flute, violin and accordion. I first started playing piano and I went to the music conservatory. After learning to play the piano and a few other instruments I studied theory and harmony. Because my mother didn’t let me have a professional music career, I went to university and studied a lot of other subjects and I majored in computer- and automated information systems. However, I never stopped playing and studying piano, harmony and guitar.
With a background in diverse disciplines like ballet, Olympic gymnastics, and music, how do these varied skills contribute to your work in film and music?
They are very useful and help me to visualize when doing music videos and writing scripts. But they are also very supportive to my health and state of Being on planet Earth.
You mentioned at the Midem festival that you were “training to be a movie director.” Can you describe how that festival experience impacted your career trajectory?
Talent is a blessing, if you accept what you have to do and become an expert in that. To improve as a director I needed to study the art of transmitting to the public the central focus of the movie and music message. The festival taught me to just be myself and be truthful to that. Midem gave me a chance to meet great artists and to share some experiences.
Your collaborations with Marcio Alves and Pedro Tavarez have been significant. How do these partnerships shape your creative process and the final output of your projects?
You need to be in harmony with the people that are working with you. I would dare to say it is a God’s blessing to have professionals that share the same vision of the world and the universe with you. I am very thankful that I meet these kinds of people and also to my consultant, Suzanne Doucet, who gives me support to expand my horizon.
Recording your music in the 432Hz frequency is quite unique. What led you to this choice, and how do you believe it affects your listeners?
432hz is a frequency that aligns with the heart chakra and is used to bring quietness and calmness. I focus on the need for people in the world to not be so attached to impermanent situations but to focus instead on their own souls to elevate their frequencies to embrace a spirit of unconditional love.
I also studied Chinese medicine and worked several years in healing arts.
Winning over 500 awards is an incredible achievement. How do these accolades influence your motivation and your approach to future projects?
it is a blessing that helps me to disseminate what I do. I feel very honored and truly grateful to all film fest organizers, the jury and my fans that receive my work with immense love. And it is an accomplishment also that gives me great feedback on my art. By now there are more than 500 awards in more than 35 countries, and with my music I am in 77 countries. I can say that I am now in all continents around the world. AnayaMusic is currently playing also in the Healing Health Care system in more than 1000 hospitals in the US and abroad; there are approximately 80 artists in this system.
Your work often explores profound themes such as women empowerment and anti-war messages. What inspires you to address these topics through your art?
The magic of music and images and the profound feeling of love are divine instruments of perfection to give re-birth to our soul. Music is the sound of Light. Images are a materialization of dreams. So when they are both together it is like magic happening.
Our best instrument is the universal harmony of being.
Looking to the future, how do you think advancements in technology and artificial intelligence will transform the landscape of filmmaking and music production?
With the advance of artificial intelligence and other sophisticated techniques, I think it will be much easier to direct and to produce a film and a music Album with lots of resources that we still do not have at the moment. As the universe is infinite, so is our imagination and ability to create too. I believe that wonderful things and new opportunities of creation will happen in the next few years. What is 100 years in front of Eternity!!!
You’ve described music as “the sound of Light.” Can you elaborate on this philosophy and how it guides your mission to create harmony and unity through your art?
Music has one of the highest vibrations and here is why: When you play an instrument, say, strumming a guitar, it makes objects vibrate. You have notes and they vary in frequency. The note itself doesn’t change, but the sound (pitch) will be different, based on the type of instrument used; for instance, the same note will sound one way on a violin, but another way on a flute. The number of Frequencies are also very important. They can have a special impact on the listener. That’s why I use very often the 432Hz frequency in my keyboards. It is a healing frequency.
As a result, you vibrate, feel happy and heal. The power of music has always been recognized by the science community, starting with Einstein who often talked about the often close relationship between math, science and music. He said he sees his life in terms of music, and when a scientist says that, maybe we need to pay attention. These days, more and more surgeons are using music to reduce anxiety and fear among their patients. The field that studies that deeply is Vibrational Medicine, but it is not yet well known. The universe resonates in frequency vibrations, movements, and impermanence and makes changes in all.
As you continue to push creative boundaries, what are your aspirations for the next phase of your career in both music and film?
Empowering the human voices behind the music is important to the future of music creators. I would like to go deep in touching people’s inner Being, and to perform with big orchestras and I will also create big movie soundtracks.
